Growing So Big...

Hayden has become SO AWARE of her surroundings here lately. She loves watching the animals run around the house, and reaches out for anything that is within her reach. We took these pictures recently, and I thought you all might enjoy them... A friend got this paci for her before she was born. She'd never used anything other than her soothies...and wasnt a fan. But, I kept sticking it in her mouth to try to get her to keep it in there long enough so I could take a picture. hahaha... I thought it was cute.

She's SO animated! She cracks us up. This was when I was trying to feed her. Can you guess what she's trying to do? :)
Look at our big girl!! 6 months old...and standing on her own!! It only lasts for a minute or two before her legs get tired, and she sits down... but, she LOVES standing. She still wont sit up completely on her own (I think she just chooses not to)...she'll sit by her self if she thinks your right there... but, if you move, she falls over. :) Such a stinker.
She LOVES Chloe. I have a feeling they are going to be best buddies. She reaches out for Chloe to kiss her... and then she laughs. Chloe follows her everywhere... and tends to hover as if to protect her. Its very sweet.
I stuck her in a pile of her animals to take pictures. She enjoyed feeling all the different "fur's"... :) She was flopping around grabbing at all of them.

We have to give her a spoon to hold while we feed her. If we dont, she tries to grab at the spoon with food on it while we are trying to get it to her mouth. Its like an obstacle course, trying to get the spoon to her mouth without food flying everywhere!! So, she plays with her own spoon while she eats... she will put it in her mouth in between bites.

Another shot of her playing in her animals. Patrick thinks its funny, that King Louis (to the left of her) has his hand on his mouth like he's laughing too. hahaha.

Baby In A Bucket

The Ogilvy Three
standing like a big girl

I love this one. She looks so mischievious.
sweet smile
one of my favorites too.
cracking up... with drool dripping off her chins :)
staring at a toy that I'm shaking next to the camera
another favorite...
getting to be such a big girl...
I cant believe our little Angel is 6 months now. She's growing so fast. The other day, she started shaking her head "no" at us... then laughs. She thinks its hilarious. She also gives kisses (I cant remember if I posted that already)... but, its SOO sweet. She opens her mouth and leans in to your face. Sometimes she'll even grab your cheeks and pull you to her. She seems to be getting a little better with the whole "sleep" thing. I think she's just going to be a difficult baby. She likes to be a challenge. These days, she has found her lungs... and uses them regularly. She will scream at the top of her lungs, and you have to look at her face to tell if its a happy scream or a sad scream... they sound very similar. :) Anyway... we finally got some super smiley professional shots of her for her 6 months shoot. I'm posting a few. Enjoy.

ROLLING OVER!
ANOTHER BATHTUB PIC... SMILEY BABY

Things here are wonderful. Our first Christmas as a family of three was amazing… everything we’d ever dreamed of. Hayden was showered with gifts from all directions and now has more toys than the child could ever dream of needing. We are truly blessed to have such a generous group of family and friends. Our living room now looks like Toys R Us. We spent Christmas morning here at home, opening gifts from Santa and spending time together. We headed to my Parents house later that afternoon to spend time with my side of the family. The next day, we headed down to GA to spend time with Patrick’s side of the family. Hayden screamed for an hour and 45 minutes on the way down there… and 2 hours on the way home. If I knew how to upload video, I’d put a video of her on here. I recorded a little of the madness on the way home… just to show her when she’s older. Ha.

Our New Years Eve was pretty eventful. My mom & Dad offered to keep Hayden over night, and of course Patrick & I jumped at the opportunity of a full nights sleep. We took her over there around 4:30, and about 6:30 the phone rang. It was my mom; Hayden had been screaming like a lunatic since the minute we left. She’d tried EVERYTHING she could think of, and couldn’t get her to calm down. We headed over there, and when Patrick picked her up she stopped crying and turned to look at her Nanny…and SMILED. WHAT A LITTLE STINKER!! Sooo… we decided to bring her home and put her to bed. Mom followed us over in her PJ’s and slept on our couch until we got home. It wasn’t the full night sleep we were hoping for, but at least we were able to have an evening out with friends.

It’s hard to believe that Hayden will be 6 months old in 5 days. She is constantly learning new things, and finding new ways to make us laugh. She really keeps us on our toes. She LOVES to eat, but insists on slouching in her chair with her feet propped up on the tray. She grabs her bib…and wipes her face in between bites. She has officially found her voice, and loves to jabber and squeal. She gets really loud sometimes and then makes herself laugh. She mimicked me for the first time today; making a funny noise after she heard me make it… it was too cute. She is still having “separation / stranger anxiety”, but seems to be getting a little better with it. She lets other people look at her and talk to her now, as long as they don’t get too close or try to hold her. Then she screams like a crazy person. Haha. She’s also become an expert at rolling; she gets herself into a corner and gets frustrated because she can’t figure out how to move. She’ll roll into the entertainment center and look at me all mad like she wants me to move it for her. It cracks me up! She’s become very affectionate; she lays her head on us and nuzzles, and will pat our arm. She also presses her face up against ours. It’s so sweet. She LOVES her baths, and LOVES to spend time on her changing table. We still have a constant struggle with getting her to sleep at night. She’s finally napping during the day; pretty consistently actually. But, still has not figured out that she’s supposed to sleep longer than 4 hours at night. She’s up several times in the night, and SCREAMS for as long as you leave her in there… until you go pick her up and rock her back to sleep. We are working on getting her to go through the night without waking up for a feeding, hoping that will get her to sleep through the night. We just can’t figure out why she doesn’t like sleep. I love sleep. I miss it. It’s like a long time friend who’s moved far far away.

I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. The connection is being weird and slow... and wont upload anything right now... stay tuned. :)

SNUGGLING WITH MOMMY

Only a few days left until Christmas. Wow, this year has really flown by. What a great year it was, though, right? So... Hayden is getting SO BIG. She's 5 months now... and 13 pounds 7 ounces. She's sitting up (for short periods of time), and TEETHING. I had her at the doctor a couple days ago for a synergis shot (a shot they give preemie's to boost their immune systems)... and the nurse pointed out two little white spots...and swollen gums. She's been miserable all day today... even with the assistance of tylenol. I'm really hoping they break through soon. We've had several other firsts happen lately. She saw snow for the first time... ate squash, carrots and greenbeans...and she met SANTA CLAUSE!! She's having "stranger anxiety" these days, so she freaks if anyone tries to hold her or even look at her, if they arent mommy or daddy. So, Meeting santa didnt go over all that well. haha. We're looking forward to spending the Holidays with family. Merry Christmas to all!!

Hello Again...

In front of Nana's Christmas tree in her new Christmas dress
Hayden & her new cousin Nathan. He's not sure what to think of her.

On Thanksgiving... her bib says "I'm Stuffed".

Hanging out with her Grampa... watching TV together.

Nakie Baby... 4 months old

Greetings!

So much to say… so very little time. We are crazy busy in the Ogilvy house these days. Lots of photo shoots, lots of traveling, lots of stuff to do! I find myself working around the house or on the computer until late… wishing there were more hours in the day. Ugh.

Hayden is getting close to 5 months old, but thinks she’s going on 10. She’s so close to sitting up on her own (she’ll tip over after several seconds). If you put her someplace where she is leaned back, she gets mad; she wants to sit like a big girl. We have started her on cereal twice a day, and she loves it. She eats like its going out of style. She definitely got her Daddy’s appetite. She’s rolling over, and getting great at holding her toys. She’s finally beginning to outgrow her newborn onesies… but remains in newborn size pants. I guess she’s got short legs like her Momma.

My sister, brother in law, and niece returned home safely from Vietnam two weeks ago. Nathan Vuong McCrery is HOME!! He’s absolutely precious, and so sweet. He’s full of smiles… and full of beans too! Jen and Brian are desperately working on establishing a routine, and look forward to longer periods of sleep. Sounds familiar. Ha! He is super tiny, but has become quite the eater, so we look for him to bulk up quickly.

The three of us headed to VA to visit Patrick’s side of the family for Thanksgiving. It was Hayden’s first long car ride, and first trip out of state. The way there was better than we could have imagined. She cried only for 20 minutes out of the whole 10 hour drive. WOW. She did a lot of sleeping (shocking), and we did a lot of singing, and playing. I sat in the back, which seemed to work out well. We had a great time visiting, and really enjoyed the extra help with Hayden. We went to his Aunt & Uncles for Thanksgiving, where Hayden experienced her first grease fire. Her and I spent an hour outside waiting for the smoke to clear. FUN. On Saturday, Patrick and I attended his 10 year high school reunion. It was interesting, and made us feel pretty old. I got to meet a couple people that Patrick was friends with back then, and got to see a few friends that I’ve already met. It was nice to go out for the evening, but I think we were both tired, and ready to head home by 9pm. Ha.

We decorated our Christmas tree tonight. We’ve had it up for several days, but wanted to wait for an evening when Hayden wasn’t asleep to help us. We started decorating, and before we got even 5 minutes into it…she had fallen asleep in Patrick’s arms. I guess when you fight your sleep all day long; you can’t make it much later than 7pm.

Smiles & Sleep....Horray!

she managed to break her hand free from the swaddle
Hayden and Daddy sporting "I voted today" stickers!!
Hayden all dressed up for her Aunt Lin's Birthday Party!!
(she wasnt all that excited about the hat)
tummy time!
more tummy time!

We have recently discovered that Hayden has inherited a giant mixture of both mine & Patrick’s sarcastic sense of humor. She has taught herself how to “fake cry” for attention. It’s pretty hilarious. She’ll start this totally fake whimper, and stick her lip out. We will call her out on it… and start laughing. All of a sudden, she’ll bust out in a HUGE grin, and laugh. It’s great. I love it. She’s also recently begun using her hands a lot. She helps us put her paci back in her mouth using her fists. She will also hug her toys up close to her chest. She’s been sleeping SO great through the night. She’ll go down around 8:00pm, and usually sleep until 5am. Sometimes she’ll go back to sleep again, until around 8am. YAY. She’s getting so big.
My sister and Brother-in-law are in Vietnam. They’ll be returning next Saturday as a family of 4!! She called us tonight and let us knows that they officially adopted Nathan yesterday. We could hear him in the background making cute baby noises. Apparently, Rachel is not all that impressed with hearing a baby crying in the middle of the night. Haha. Jen says he laughs at her, and finds her quite entertaining, as Hayden does. We can’t wait for them to get home!
Patrick and I are going to be in a wedding in two weeks. Our dear friends, Josh and Crystal are tying the knot after dating for a little over 6 years! Patrick is a Groomsman, and I am a Bridesmaid. We haven’t been in one together in over 6 years… yes, I’m referring to ours. We are looking forward to walking down the aisle again, and sharing in this special day with our friends. I’ll be sure to post some pictures.
Okay, well.. Kath & Kim is on… its one of our new favorite shows. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. The humor is similar to that on The Office. Have a fantastic day!
