My, how time surly does fly. As I sit here watching her play on the floor… I am thinking of just how precious time is. I mean… It was just yesterday that she was born, right?

Hayden is exploring exciting new realms of mobility these days. She is officially a climber and all over EVERYTHING. She now pulls herself up on pretty much anything that is not moving… including us. She enjoys getting into everything that doesn’t belong to her, and is EXTREMELY persistent. I have no idea where she gets that from…haha. It drives me NUTS. She threw her first REALLY public temper tantrum yesterday at Target. Just a little glimpse into my future, I guess. I moved the cart back a little, so she couldn’t reach the tag that she was chewing on…and she flipped. Threw her head back…and started screaming! There was a mom standing next to me, and she started cracking up. I was like… “Yeah, I’m so mean… won’t let her chew on paper”. Hayden’s got it rough. HA! I just can’t get over how big she’s getting. Sometimes (if she feels like it), she can follow my direction now. If I tell her to put the block in the bucket, or her gumball in the machine (toy), she will do it. Then she claps for herself. She starting to eat a good amount of table food at meal times… she LOVES feeding herself.

We got a “blackout” curtain… and she’s taking better naps than EVER. PRAISE THE LORD!! She wakes up in the best of moods… and cracks me up! Lately, when I go in to get her… she’s standing there bouncing and laughing. It’s precious.

My niece graduated from Preschool last week. She’s the oldest of my Mom’s grandbabies. I cannot believe she’s going to Kindergarten in the fall. Blows my mind how quickly they grow. Hayden did great sitting there with her Daddy (I was in the balcony taking pictures)… despite the fact that it was way past her bedtime, and she had refused her bottle earlier that evening! She mostly just sat there and enjoyed her surroundings. She’s such a little social butterfly!

One more thing. I MUST share this story with you. We went to dinner with some friends on Saturday night. Another group of people with a baby happened to sit in the booth across from ours. I noticed their little guy was close in size to Hayden, and asked how old he was. His mom replied “1o months”… I said, “Wow so is she”. She said… “When is her birthday? His is July 15th.”… I laughed, replying… “so is hers”. Crazy, huh? Oh… it gets better. So, Hayden has COMPLETELY turned herself around in the highchair so that she is facing them instead of us (something she always does when we go out to dinner… she’s nosy). They put their little guy in the highchair facing her. She starts chatting to him… and clapping… and getting louder and louder. She’s a squealer… and can be pretty loud. Anyway… at first, he looks a little concerned. Then the lip comes out… then full on SCREAM in terror. It was hilarious. So, they picked him up out of the chair and held him for a while. They attempted to put him back in his chair two more times, both times the same story repeated itself. Hayden made him cry…again. Haha! The mom was like… “you can’t be afraid of girls your WHOLE life.” HAHA!! Patrick was proud. He called her a “man eater”, and insists that she continue to make boys cry until she’s 40 ish.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332510449326170034" style="DISPLAY: block; I have no excuses, really, other than the fact that I’m constantly chasing after our VERY mobile 9 ½ month old baby girl!!
Hayden is all over the place these days. She is quite the little explorer… and loves to get into everything that doesn’t belong to her! Her favorite things to go after; the remote, phone, dog food, water bowl, and any sort of paper. I pick her up and move her away from the dog food at least 30 times a day! She’s got two teeth on the top currently working their way through. One has just recently broken through the gum, and the other one is just about ready to! This makes for a total of 4!! Such a Big girl!!
She has become more and more like her mommy. She LOVES watching television. Haha. Her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Club… and whenever I turn it on, she starts squealing and flapping her arms! Its hysterical. She is also a complete and total CHATTERBOX. She absolutely LOOVES to talk. She says; “hi”, “ha ha” – like Nelson on the Simpson’s!, “Mama”, “Dada”, “Baba”, and many more random sounds!! I had her at the doctors office the other day (she has her first ear infection) and she was entertaining everyone in the waiting room! She was literally shouting at the top of her lungs. Nurses were peeking around the window to see where all the “ruckus” was coming from! She loves people, and is just so full of animation. She has recently learned to clap… and is pulling up on EVERYTHING!! Therefore nothing is safe anymore! She is constantly pulling things off the coffee table, books off the shelf, and laundry out of the basket!!
I have to tell you that I watch Hayden in complete and total amazement every single day. Not only am I still in shock that she is actually my daughter, but I am in awe at the speed in which she grows. It’s so surreal. Really. I cannot believe that she is almost 10 months old. Time really does fly. She is looking more and more like a toddler to me… and so much less like a baby. She’s so sweet… and affectionate. If you ask for a kiss, she kisses you… a lot. I think she’s French. Anyway… hopefully I’ll be better at updating this thing now that I’m on the wagon again. I’m posting a few recent photos. Enjoy.

Growing So Big...

Hayden has become SO AWARE of her surroundings here lately. She loves watching the animals run around the house, and reaches out for anything that is within her reach. We took these pictures recently, and I thought you all might enjoy them... A friend got this paci for her before she was born. She'd never used anything other than her soothies...and wasnt a fan. But, I kept sticking it in her mouth to try to get her to keep it in there long enough so I could take a picture. hahaha... I thought it was cute.

She's SO animated! It only lasts for a minute or two before her legs get tired, and she sits down... but, she LOVES standing. She still wont sit up completely on her own (I think she just chooses not to)...she'll sit by her self if she thinks your right there... but, if you move, she falls over. :) Such a stinker.

She LOVES Chloe. I have a feeling they are going to be best buddies. She reaches out for Chloe to kiss her... and then she laughs. Chloe follows her everywhere... and tends to hover as if to protect her. Its very sweet.

I stuck her in a pile of her animals to take pictures. She enjoyed feeling all the different "fur's"... :) She was flopping around grabbing at all of them.

We have to give her a spoon to hold while we feed her. If we dont, she tries to grab at the spoon with food on it while we are trying to get it to her mouth. Its like an obstacle course, trying to get the spoon to her mouth without food flying everywhere!! So, she plays with her own spoon while she eats... she will put it in her mouth in between bites.

Another shot of her playing in her animals. Patrick thinks its funny, that King Louis (to the left of her) has his hand on his mouth like he's laughing too. hahaha.

Baby In A Bucket

The Ogilvy Three
standing like a big girl

I love this one. She's growing so fast. The other day, she started shaking her head "no" at us... then laughs. She thinks its hilarious. She also gives kisses (I cant remember if I posted that already)... but, its SOO sweet. She opens her mouth and leans in to your face. Sometimes she'll even grab your cheeks and pull you to her. She seems to be getting a little better with the whole "sleep" thing. I think she's just going to be a difficult baby. She likes to be a challenge. These days, she has found her lungs... and uses them regularly. She will scream at the top of her lungs, and you have to look at her face to tell if its a happy scream or a sad scream... they sound very similar. :) Anyway... we finally got some super smiley professional shots of her for her 6 months shoot. I'm posting a few. Enjoy.

OKAY... Our first Christmas as a family of three was amazing… everything we’d ever dreamed of. Hayden was showered with gifts from all directions and now has more toys than the child could ever dream of needing. We are truly blessed to have such a generous group of family and friends. Our living room now looks like Toys R Us. We spent Christmas morning here at home, opening gifts from Santa and spending time together. We headed to my Parents house later that afternoon to spend time with my side of the family. The next day, we headed down to GA to spend time with Patrick’s side of the family. Hayden screamed for an hour and 45 minutes on the way down there… and 2 hours on the way home. If I knew how to upload video, I’d put a video of her on here. I recorded a little of the madness on the way home… just to show her when she’s older. Ha.

Our New Years Eve was pretty eventful. My mom & Dad offered to keep Hayden over night, and of course Patrick & I jumped at the opportunity of a full nights sleep. We took her over there around 4:30, and about 6:30 the phone rang. It was my mom; Hayden had been screaming like a lunatic since the minute we left. She’d tried EVERYTHING she could think of, and couldn’t get her to calm down. We headed over there, and when Patrick picked her up she stopped crying and turned to look at her Nanny…and SMILED. WHAT A LITTLE STINKER!! Sooo… we decided to bring her home and put her to bed. Mom followed us over in her PJ’s and slept on our couch until we got home. It wasn’t the full night sleep we were hoping for, but at least we were able to have an evening out with friends.

It’s hard to believe that Hayden will be 6 months old in 5 days. She is constantly learning new things, and finding new ways to make us laugh. She really keeps us on our toes. She LOVES to eat, but insists on slouching in her chair with her feet propped up on the tray. She grabs her bib…and wipes her face in between bites. She has officially found her voice, and loves to jabber and squeal. She gets really loud sometimes and then makes herself laugh. She mimicked me for the first time today; making a funny noise after she heard me make it… it was too cute. She is still having “separation / stranger anxiety”, but seems to be getting a little better with it. She lets other people look at her and talk to her now, as long as they don’t get too close or try to hold her. Then she screams like a crazy person. Haha. She’s also become an expert at rolling; she gets herself into a corner and gets frustrated because she can’t figure out how to move. She’ll roll into the entertainment center and look at me all mad like she wants me to move it for her. It cracks me up! She’s become very affectionate; she lays her head on us and nuzzles, and will pat our arm. She also presses her face up against ours. It’s so sweet. She LOVES her baths, and LOVES to spend time on her changing table. We still have a constant struggle with getting her to sleep at night. She’s finally napping during the day; pretty consistently actually. But, still has not figured out that she’s supposed to sleep longer than 4 hours at night. She’s up several times in the night, and SCREAMS for as long as you leave her in there… until you go pick her up and rock her back to sleep. We are working on getting her to go through the night without waking up for a feeding, hoping that will get her to sleep through the night. We just can’t figure out why she doesn’t like sleep. I love sleep. I miss it. It’s like a long time friend who’s moved far far away.

I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. The connection is being weird and slow... and wont upload anything right now... stay tuned. :)

Santa Clause is coming to town...

SWEET FACE
CARROTS ARE HER FAVORITE...TO EAT, AND TO WEAR.

GETTING TEETH IS FOR THE BIRDS!!

SHE CRIES IF YOU TAKE TOO LONG BETWEEN BITES.

MMM... Wow, this year has really flown by. What a great year it was, though, right? So... Hayden is getting SO BIG. She's 5 months now... and 13 pounds 7 ounces. She's sitting up (for short periods of time), and TEETHING. I had her at the doctor a couple days ago for a synergis shot (a shot they give preemie's to boost their immune systems)... and the nurse pointed out two little white spots...and swollen gums. She's been miserable all day today... even with the assistance of tylenol. I'm really hoping they break through soon. We've had several other firsts happen lately. She saw snow for the first time... ate squash, carrots and greenbeans...and she met SANTA CLAUSE!! She's having "stranger anxiety" these days, so she freaks if anyone tries to hold her or even look at her, if they arent mommy or daddy. So, Meeting santa didnt go over all that well. haha. We're looking forward to spending the Holidays with family. Merry Christmas to all!!

Hello Again...

In front of Nana's Christmas tree in her new Christmas dress
Hayden & her new cousin Nathan. We are crazy busy in the Ogilvy house these days. Lots of photo shoots, lots of traveling, lots of stuff to do! I find myself working around the house or on the computer until late… wishing there were more hours in the day. Ugh.

Hayden is getting close to 5 months old, but thinks she’s going on 10. She’s so close to sitting up on her own (she’ll tip over after several seconds). If you put her someplace where she is leaned back, she gets mad; she wants to sit like a big girl. We have started her on cereal twice a day, and she loves it. She eats like its going out of style. She definitely got her Daddy’s appetite. She’s rolling over, and getting great at holding her toys. She’s finally beginning to outgrow her newborn onesies… but remains in newborn size pants. I guess she’s got short legs like her Momma.

My sister, brother in law, and niece returned home safely from Vietnam two weeks ago. Nathan Vuong McCrery is HOME!! He’s absolutely precious, and so sweet. He’s full of smiles… and full of beans too! Jen and Brian are desperately working on establishing a routine, and look forward to longer periods of sleep. Sounds familiar. Ha! He is super tiny, but has become quite the eater, so we look for him to bulk up quickly.

The three of us headed to VA to visit Patrick’s side of the family for Thanksgiving. It was Hayden’s first long car ride, and first trip out of state. The way there was better than we could have imagined. She cried only for 20 minutes out of the whole 10 hour drive. WOW. She did a lot of sleeping (shocking), and we did a lot of singing, and playing. I sat in the back, which seemed to work out well. We had a great time visiting, and really enjoyed the extra help with Hayden. We went to his Aunt & Uncles for Thanksgiving, where Hayden experienced her first grease fire. Her and I spent an hour outside waiting for the smoke to clear. FUN. On Saturday, Patrick and I attended his 10 year high school reunion. It was interesting, and made us feel pretty old. I got to meet a couple people that Patrick was friends with back then, and got to see a few friends that I’ve already met. It was nice to go out for the evening, but I think we were both tired, and ready to head home by 9pm. Ha.

We decorated our Christmas tree tonight. We’ve had it up for several days, but wanted to wait for an evening when Hayden wasn’t asleep to help us. We started decorating, and before we got even 5 minutes into it…she had fallen asleep in Patrick’s arms. I guess when you fight your sleep all day long; you can’t make it much later than 7pm.

Smiles & Sleep....Horray!

she managed to break her hand free from the swaddle
Hayden and Daddy sporting "I voted today" stickers!!

Hayden all dressed up for her Aunt Lin's Birthday Party!!

(she wasnt all that excited about the hat)

tummy time!

more tummy time!

We have recently discovered that Hayden has inherited a giant mixture of both mine & Patrick’s sarcastic sense of humor. She has taught herself how to “fake cry” for attention. It’s pretty hilarious. She’ll start this totally fake whimper, and stick her lip out. We will call her out on it… and start laughing. All of a sudden, she’ll bust out in a HUGE grin, and laugh. It’s great. I love it. She’s also recently begun using her hands a lot. She helps us put her paci back in her mouth using her fists. She will also hug her toys up close to her chest. She’s been sleeping SO great through the night. She’ll go down around 8:00pm, and usually sleep until 5am. Sometimes she’ll go back to sleep again, until around 8am. YAY. She’s getting so big.

My sister and Brother-in-law are in Vietnam. They’ll be returning next Saturday as a family of 4!! She called us tonight and let us knows that they officially adopted Nathan yesterday. We could hear him in the background making cute baby noises. Apparently, Rachel is not all that impressed with hearing a baby crying in the middle of the night. Haha. Jen says he laughs at her, and finds her quite entertaining, as Hayden does. We can’t wait for them to get home!

Patrick and I are going to be in a wedding in two weeks. Our dear friends, Josh and Crystal are tying the knot after dating for a little over 6 years! Patrick is a Groomsman, and I am a Bridesmaid. We haven’t been in one together in over 6 years… yes, I’m referring to ours. We are looking forward to walking down the aisle again, and sharing in this special day with our friends. I’ll be sure to post some pictures.

Okay, well.. Kath & Kim is on… its one of our new favorite shows. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. The humor is similar to that on The Office. She looked pretty stinkin cute in her Goldfish costume; helping us hand out candy to all the trick-or-treaters. My mom and dad stopped by, along with my sister and brother in law and my niece. We enjoyed hanging out on the front porch, while watching all the little ones in their costumes. Our friends Todd and Linda stopped by with their son, Carter. He was a cow for Halloween. We got a picture of the Cow and the Goldfish together. It was super cute. Hayden weighs a little over 11 pounds now... and is slowly growing out of the cholic...FINALLY. She is begining to smile a whole lot these days... and it just melts my heart. She tries to put her paci back in her mouth all the time, and the other night she actually succeeded. It was so cute.. she looked so proud of herself! Anyway... things here are good. We're getting really busy with Ogilvy Images. Christmas season is always busy. People want pictures from previous shoots for gifts, and want christmas shoots and christmas cards. busy busy bees are we. OH... and BIG NEWS. My sister and brother in law found out that they will be leaving on Monday evening to go get their son, whom they are adopting from Vietnam. They, along with my niece will be over there for 2 weeks. They will return on the 23rd as an official family of 4. We'd all appreciate prayers for smooth travels and safety for all of them while they are over there! I'll, of course, post pictures when they get back! ps: sorry for the slacking, Melinda... I'll try to keep up better!! hehe. ;)

Sleeping on Mommy's pillow

sweet baby girl..

Another Angle of her sleeping on my pillow

Smiling at Mommy... and wearing her new boots that her Grandmommy sent!!

Sitting like a big girl!!

Dancing in her bouncy seat!

Hey Again!

Today has been a FANTASTIC day... Its precious. Halloween is coming up. I wasnt going to get Hayden a costume, because I figured she's not going to remember this anyway. Then I decided that she's only little once, and went online searching for the perfect costume. Well, I found it. Its super cute, and she loves it. Okay, well... she doesnt really care.. but, I LOVE it. :) Anyway... hope you all are having a fantastic day!

SHE'S ON THE MOVE...

Hayden is 3 months old now!!! Its hard to believe. She's growing so fast. Well, It feels as if we may finally be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, as far as her Cholic is concerned. There appears to be less and less crying every day. We're getting there. Little by little. Mid morning is her best time of day... which she definitely did NOT get from me! Earlier this week she made a move. I put her on her tummy, and she immediately rolled over to her back. She was SO proud of herself! It was adorable. She had this HUGE smile on her face as if to say.. "HEY, did you see that? Did you see what I just did?". I put her back on her tummy 3 more times, and she proceeded to roll over to her back 3 more times. So its official... she's rolling over. We are so proud. Anyway... just thought I'd share. Also, Hayden has become a master at the "poutty lip". Its pretty hilarious. She has found her daddy's Kryptonite at such a young age!! I posted a few pictures of the lip, and a picture of her smiling. (so you dont think she's so pitiful ALL the time). Have a Fantastic Weekend.

Just a little More...

So... I decided to stay up a little longer, and go ahead and post the pictures from the Pumpkin Patch. Also... just a little glance into my crappy experience at sears yesterday. Hayden and I went to get new tires put on the car. What was supposed to take 45min, turned into 2.5 hours. I was totally irritated. So, I'm walking around sears, with Hayden in the front carrier (the one in these pictures).. and a lady who works at one of the registers turns to me and says.. "Can that baby even breath in that thing?"... You've got to be kidding me. No. She cant. I'm smothering my child. I just looked at her and smiled...and said.. "yeah, she's fine". What an idiot.

Our Little PumpkinPie

Last weekend, we headed to Waldon Farm (a local pumpkin patch) with our friends, the Hopkins’. Believe it or not, Hayden slept through the majority of our trip. She woke up just in time to help us pick out pumpkins… which of course, she was thrilled about! We enjoyed watching the Hopkins’ kids play in the corn; guide us through the corn maze, and much more! They enjoyed showing Hayden how it’s done. On Sunday, we headed over to my parents for a late lunch with the family. My dad made homemade enchiladas… they were fabulous! We all got a kick out of watching Rachel with Hayden. Rachel wanted to hold her, so we sat her on the couch and put Hayden in her arms. Hayden LOVED it. She watches everything Rachel does and smiles like crazy at every move she makes. Rachel is so good with her; it’s so sweet to watch. Hayden is now 9lbs and 10oz. This morning, she was lying on her back and Patrick started talking to her. She turned her head to find him, looked up and got a huge grin on her face. It was too sweet.

We finally had the appointment with the specialist yesterday. After what seemed like FOREVER… we finally got to meet with someone who might be able to figure things out. The doctor was FABULOUS… we love her. She went over the results from Hayden’s Upper GI, and made her diagnosis based on all the information we gave her. Here is what she said. Hayden DOES have Acid Reflux, but luckily it’s not a bad case of it. She DOES have a severe case of Colic. She said that colic isn’t necessarily what most people think it is. It’s actually inflammation and irritation of the digestive track. This causes Hayden pain, and discomfort… which makes her cry…which makes her suck in air and cause even more pain and discomfort. It’s pretty much a horrible cycle. We’ve started her on a number of herbs, medications and adding even more rice to her daily intake. We are going to give this new routine a try for a couple weeks. If this doesn’t work, Hayden will be placed on a medication that is basically a baby pain killer. She’s a very proactive doctor, which I LOVE… because we are proactive parents. I’m not at all about to let my daughter be in PAIN…and just let her “grow out of it” like some doctors suggest with colic. Last night she slept from 11:30pm-6:45am. She had a bottle, and went back to sleep until 10:45, when I had to wake her up to get to an appointment… I’m hoping that this is some light at the end of a tunnel.
I’ll try to post some pictures tomorrow.

So much to say... so little time

Okay. Lets start off by saying that the appointment at Vanderbilt was far from eventful. Everything went great. No signs of anything abnormal. We switched her to a special formula called Alimentum (it breaks up the milk proteins, and makes it easier on her tummy), which seems to be doing the trick. We have a whole new baby these days. She is FULL of smiles, cooing all the time, and very alert!! This formula is more than twice the cost of normal formula... UGH... but, well worth the money, if it makes her feel better!

Patricks Mom joined his Sister for a visit on friday morning. We had a house full, until yesterday morning. It was FANTASTIC having them here to help, and of course... to visit. Hayden had a great time with them, as did Patrick and I. On sunday night, Patrick and I went out with some friends, while Nana and Aunt Kathleen stayed home with Hayden. We went to a Japanese Habatchi Grill.... it was delish! Monday morning Patrick dropped them off at the airport on his way to work. We both agreed that we got a little spoiled having them here... and we need a nanny. hahaha! Just kiddin. a little.

I kept our niece, Rachel, for the afternoon while my sister had class (she's going back to school to finish her teaching degree). Rachel LOVES Hayden, and had a great time helping me take care of her today. She held her, and held her bottle for me while she ate... and threw the diapers in the diaper pail, danced around the room to make her laugh... and much much more! I got some SUPER DUPER ADORABLE pictures of the two of them together. I'm pretty sure these are going to make Nana cry. haha.

Well, I'm off to bed. Hayden got up at 4...and again at 7... then was finished sleeping for the day. I'm very sleeeeepy. peace out, homies.

OWF: Ogilvy Wrestling Federation

Patricks sister, Kathleen, flew in on Tuesday. She came to meet Hayden, and of course spend some time with Patrick & I too! She's been such a great help... I dont think I'm going to let her go home on Monday!! Patrick's mom will be here on Friday morning... she flys home on Monday too. She got to meet Hayden while she was still in the NICU, but this will be the first time seeing her without tubes and lines hooked up to her! We are so grateful to have such an amazing family. Patricks oldest brother also stopped by tonight. He was in Nashville for business today, and was on his way home to Atlanta. This was his first time meeting Hayden, too. This week is a week of Firsts!! :) We spoke with the doctor yesterday, and are now putting a little bit of rice cereal in Hayden's bottles. She said it can take 48 hours to see an improvement. Also... we had a wrestling match right here in our living room. It was pretty intense. I'm posting pictures. I'm also posting a few pictures of Hayden with her Uncle Mark and Aunt Kathleen. Enjoy!!

Gas..yeah, I said it.

Well, We heard from the doctors office today, and Hayden's appointments have been made. We go in on Friday morning (the 26th) for her upper GI. We cant feed for 4 hours before the test. Fun. As if we dont listen to her scream enough? AH. I'm not sure how long the procedure takes... but, they said we can feed her a while bottle afterward. I think the stuff they use to send the dye through, is just enough to get the test done, not to fill her belly. She's got another apointment on Oct. 7th with a specialist... to set up a new "plan of action". We're keeping our fingers crossed for relief, both for Hayden and for us. She had a SUPER FANTASTIC day today. She slept GREAT last night... and was super through out the day. She took two naps... and didnt cry half as much as she normally does. I think she was crazy tired from the ordeal at the doctors office yesterday (shots, etc). She was in great spirits this morning, smiling...and cooing. At one point, she tooted...then smiled REALLY big. I started cracking up. I think she gets that from her Papo. :) Anyway... hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We'll be sticking around the house for the most part... since apparently, the country is running out of gas. me too. Hayden has plenty. :)

Baby Houdini

It might just be me, but I'm pretty sure the days are getting longer. It could be, because Hayden is no longer sleeping during the day. And... she cries almost the entire time she's awake. It breaks my heart, because I know something is going on. So, she had her 2 month well baby visit today. She now weighs 8lbs and 10oz. She's 20 3/4 inches long. Hayden also got 3 shots... she was a trooper. The doctor and I discussed her reflux, the meds... and all the symptoms going on these days. She's up for anywhere between 10-12 hours a day, fighting sleep... and screaming. She's constantly congested, and she spits up all the time. I end up changing her clothes (and mine) several times a day. The pediatrician is concerned that the reflux is severe, and is sending us to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital for testing. We're going to see a specialist, and Hayden will have a GI done. They are going to put dye in her formula, then watch it go through her digestive system. They want to make sure there isnt anything "anatomically" wrong, and they want to see what the reflux is doing. After this, they will hopefully have a more accurate acount of what is going on with our sweet girl. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her sweet spirit. She is clearly uncomfortable. The few times that she is happy... she's REALLY happy. If we kiss her neck and cheeks... she'll smile, and coo. She also loves "zerberts" (or raspberries...as some would call them). Lately, she cant decide if she still likes being swaddled. I think she's most comfortable that way, once she's asleep.. but, she doesnt want to go to sleep... so, she will lay there and wiggle... and wiggle... and grunt, and wiggle some more, until she breaks her hands free. She looks so proud of herself after she's done it. It cracks us up. She then proceeds to wake herself up, by flailing her hands about. She's our baby houdini. :) ps: I'll keep you posted on the reflux testing & what not. Patrick and I shot our first wedding since having Hayden. It went pretty well, and it was nice to get back into the "groove" of things! Sunday I decided to take on the task of shampooing our carpets. Brave, I know. I did much of the furniture moving with Hayden in the carrier strapped over my shoulders. She's very into being held these days. :) As of tommorow, she will be 9 weeks old. We go for her 2 month well baby check up on Thursday... I'm eager to see how much she weighs! A few days ago, she started holding her head up REALLY well. She's getting so big! She's starting to smile more and more... well, when she's not testing her lungs out, anyway! I'm about 98% sure she's got "colic", which... for those of you who have experienced it know, is quite fantastic. :) She cries for several hours in the evenings... and refuses to go to sleep, unless you are bouncing her. And as soon as you stop... her eyes pop open. Little stinker! We started new medication for her reflux tonight. The other stuff quit working as well... so the Dr. switched her over to prevacid. Keeping our fingers crossed that this will give her more "relief". I'm posting some super cute pictures of Hayden holding her head up, smiling... and spending quality time with her Mommy & Daddy!

PLAY DATES & FRENCH FRIES

Well... Things here are going great. Hayden is 8 weeks old today... and growing SO fast. One of my bestest friends in the whole world, Jennifer, is here visiting from Oklahoma for the week. She came over yesterday, and brought her two kids with her. Noah is 5 months, and Taylor is 2. Taylor LOVES babies, and I got some cute pictures of her "loving" on Hayden. We went to the Park, and hung out at my house... it was a wonderful day of catching up... and just hanging out... being Mommies. :) I'm trying to convince her and her husband to buy the house for sale next door. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hayden's Acid Reflux is definately being "tamed" by the medicine... we are so thankful that we figured out what was going on with her! She's becoming more and more aware of things around her. If I talk in silly voices, or sing... I can get her to smile. She follows my voice with her eyes and head too. Today, I was tickling her face with my hair... and she was smiling! I love watching her experience this world... its such an amazing feeling.

CINDY LOO WHO OGILVY

Well, its Saturday night... and all is quiet in the Ogilvy house. Hayden is fast asleep, and Patrick and I are relaxing in front of the television. Last night, my cousin Morgan came over... and spent the night. She let Patrick & I sleep and got up with Hayden all night. She knew we'd had a rough week, and wanted to help. I love her for that. She said Hayden did great (of course)... and slept really well. She's had a great day today. The medicine is definitely making a difference. She's finally sleeping more soundly, and is a lot less fussy when she's awake. Tonight, Patrick got some super cute pictures of her grabbing at my face. I stuck a pink bow in her hair for kicks, and she looked like little Cindy Loo Who from the Grinch. :) She was trying to suck on my nose, and give me kisses. It was pretty adorable. I'll post a few on here. OH, and for those who were worried, I was able to perform successful reconstructive surgery on Buggs. He is recovering peacefully on the kitchen counter.

GROWING GIRL

So, last night was a rough one. Hayden was super fussy, and didn’t sleep soundly all night. Patrick stayed up until 1, and I got up at 1, so he could get some sleep. This past week or two, she’s gotten progressively more fussy. She arches her back and screams when she eats, and wants to be held all the time. She cries while she’s trying to sleep… it’s just pitiful. After last night, we’d had enough… and decided to call the doctor. We went in this morning, and figured out that she has Acid Reflux. The DR gave her a prescription for Zantak… and we’ll hopefully have a much happier baby after a few more doses. Her poor little tummy is hurting her… it breaks my heart! They also weighed her… and I almost fell over! She weighs in at 7lbs and 13 oz now! She gained 25 oz in the past 14 days. The DR said they like to see them gain an ounce a day… Hayden almost doubled that! Haha. Growing girl! After the doctors visit, she finally fell asleep in the car on the way home. I really wanted her to continue to sleep… so… desperate times call for desperate measures. I put her (in her car seat) on the dryer. Yeah, I know… but… IT WORKED!! I got about 2 hours of sleep…. And so did she! Also: funny story. The night before last, Patrick was in the office, and I was in the bedroom with Hayden. Patrick comes out into the living room and calls for me. He says the living room is now a crime scene. Turns out Chloe’s favorite toy… has been murdered. We were tempted to put up crime tape. I’ve included a photo. I’m going to try to bring Buggs back to life this weekend… I think it will require multiple surgeries.

Hellooo, Again. I'm assuming since you are reading this, that you got my e-mail. Thanks for checking us out! How is Hayden? She's doing great. As of yesterday, she is 7 weeks old now. She thinks she's grown, though... and doesnt need naps. She fights her sleep more than any other baby I've ever known. She kicks... and arches her back... and SCREAMS. I find it entertaining during the day, but not so much at 3 in the morning. :) She's lifting her head really well now, and is pushing herself up now, with her arms. She's checking things out, and fixating on things around the room. Her and Chloe are BEST BUDS. Chloe goes everywhere Hayden goes... and likes to give her kisses. She's very protective of her... when Hayden cries, Chloe comes running. Its pretty sweet. Also: other family news... My sister and brother in law will be hopefully have my nephew home from Vietnam by Feb!! YAY. I updated the flicker site last night. lots of great new pictures. check it out. www.flickr.com/photos/mellisaogilvy/

Okay, so.. I totally intended on keeping up with this, from the begining of the pregnancy. clearly that didnt happen. I dont think I even told anyone about it. Whoops. Alright... I'm going to do my best to keep up with it now, and keep you all informed as to whats going on in our lives... particularly Hayden's. I've been sending out e-mail updates, but I think this will be more convenient. So, as of Tuesday, Hayden is 6 weeks old. She's holding her head up a little on her own these days. She also smiled at me (on purpose) for the first time today. I was making her dance, and singing to her... and she got a huge grin on her face. It was so PRECIOUS. Anyway... I'll post a picture or two, if I can figure this thing out. :) Ta-ta... for now.

Welcome to Our Blog!

We decided that since we have family all OVER the place, it would be great to set up a blog to keep everyone updated on our pregnancy adventures! As of now, I am close to 5 weeks pregnant. All is going well, and we are looking forward to our first ultrasound appointment. I'm currently going to the doctor every 48 hours to monitor my levels.. but, that will stop after mid January. Stay tuned for lots of pictures and updates!
